After a tough season for Queensland growers Seminis wanted to show their support for those farmers affected by extreme weather events. Ben Hoodless, Dave Campbell, Tony Gietzel, Gus Manatsa and Lewis Nevin travelled from across Queensland to Brisbane with a group of Queensland growers for Day 3 of the first ashes test in November last year.
The day kicked off at the Gabba with everyone getting to know each other better and some great cricket related banter. As the day progressed the group watched Australia increase their lead over England. The comradery and excitement throughout the day was fantastic. Beating England didn’t hurt either.
After an exciting day of cricket, the group were joined by the grower’s partners for dinner at the Pineapple Hotel. The group shared a nice meal and discussed a raft of topics outside of growing fruit and vegetables. It was a great opportunity to get to know some of our customers better and a fantastic opportunity give something back.
We wish all our grower’s the best of luck for 2018.
